Business Development Coordinator (FTC) - Newton Abbot - Devon

(Full time – up to 7 months maternity cover)

Working with a great bunch of people (warm-hearted, respectful and inclusive of others), the key purpose of this role is to support regional staff in securing new business and to boost interest in our organisation.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Handling and processing new business enquiries demonstrating a wholeheartedly client focused approach
  • Supporting the Regional Teams to increase awareness of our organisation in different parts of the country
  • Processing and following up online registrations
  • Progressing enquiries and leads to confirmed bookings
  • Processing individual bookings and commissioned courses
  • Providing a smooth handover of commissioned courses to the Training Team
  • Looking for opportunities to upsell when appropriate
  • Obtaining feedback on commissioned courses
  • Updating course flyers and other business development materials
  • Using IT systems to maintain accurate information on leads and bookings
  • Contributing to team and process development

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral and an excellent telephone manner

  • Highly numerate and literate
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in a training or education environment
  • Familiarity with direct marketing techniques, CRM systems and database management
  • Business development experience
  • Educated to degree level
