Executive Assistant/HR Support - Paignton (Hybrid Working) - Devon

£27-30k - Secretarial, PA and Administration

This is a busy and varied position and we are seeking someone who is flexible and dependable, able to take the initiative and exercise good judgement whilst working independently.

You will need to demonstrate EA/Business Support experience gained at Director or senior Manager Level and have hands-on experience in a generalist HR role with an understanding of HR best practices. Additionally you will be competent in dealing with correspondence and communication, system management, arranging meetings, diary management and developing working relationships with a wide range of people.

Main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Improving, implementing and administering HR policies and procedures (with support from the HR Director).
  • Managing recruitment and retention.
  • Undertaking tasks around performance management.
  • Implementing programs to improve the employee experience of the organisation as a workplace.
  • Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR department
  • Handling complaints and disciplinary procedures for the company.
  • Maintaining employee records, processing starters, leavers, pre-employment and reference checks ensuring that the correct processes are followed in line with the company's policies and procedures.
  • Providing high quality, professional and confidential administrative/secretarial support to the Managing Director including email and diary management.
  • Ensure busy diary commitments, papers and travel arrangements are managed effectively.
  • To deal with enquiries ensuring all responses are well researched, accurate and timely. Producing quality documents.
  • Maintaining filing and CRM systems.
  • To carry out research for projects and other administrative tasks as directed.
  • Building relationships both internally and externally with a wide range of people.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • May have or be working towards a CIPD level of qualification.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite and PowerPoint.
  • Good social media skills; in particular LinkedIn.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A positive approach to daily tasks and have a solution focussed working method.
  • A customer-focused outlook with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing – particular about phone and email etiquette.
  • An understanding that confidentiality is of the utmost importance.
