We are looking for a Human Resources Manager to provide strategic and operational HR support to our client’s core services. You will be qualified to degree level and/or CIPD Level 5 minimum or equivalent qualification, with a minimum 5 years' experience of working in a generalist HR role and a proven track record of successfully managing HR processes.

The Role

To lead and manage the Human Resources and Staff Development functions.  Advising and assisting senior managers in the development of a strategic leadership programme that can be delivered through a robust, modern and well-run employee relations strategy to support the achievement of the Company’s organisational objectives. To play a vital role in ensuring that operational HR functions are delivered effectively and in alignment with the Company’s culture and values with a focus on employee engagement.

Key Results Areas

Service Specific Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage the HR and Employee Engagement functions within the core framework.
  • Advise senior management on the development of HR strategies necessary to achieve the Company’s long term goals.
  • Devise and deliver an effective employee relations strategy including the ongoing review, development and implementation of management policies and processes.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a bespoke learning and development strategy which reflects the Company’s priorities and enables and supports learning to promote an effective organisational culture.
  • Review, devise and develop policies, procedures and practice which identify the Company as a progressive, modern and well-run organisation, providing clarity, flexibility and innovation to support the management of all staff.
  • Ensure that the operation of the HR function complies with current regulations and legislation at all times.
  • Promote the motivation and development of the management team so that they are equipped to meet and exceed their line management responsibilities and objectives.
  • Be proactive in the formulation of options and proposals to further the strategic objectives and organisational policies of the Board.
  • Ensure that the HR service is coordinated and integrated with organisational developments and priorities.
  • Develop the Company’s commitment to equal opportunities and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
  • Promote and support the health, safety, training and wellbeing of all employees and maintain good industrial relations with employees and their representatives.
  • Manage the budget for HR services, ensuring that a balanced budget is delivered at the end of each financial year.
  • To ensure the development and delivery of effective engagement tools that are maintained and evaluated to ensure effectiveness.
  • To coordinate and evaluate the effectiveness of the workforce engagement strategies including but not limited to Health and Wellbeing, Learning and Development and Internal Communications.
  • To establish benchmarks and targets against which future improvement can be made.

Organisational Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the management team, you will actively contribute to the organisational management of the Company.
  • Provide effective, leadership to promote the development of business and performance management across the workforce.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of the Company’s strategic objectives and management policies.
  • To design and deliver the workforce engagement strategy.
  • Support organisational change by creating effective internal communications strategies and ensuring best practice across the frameworks of the business as change is managed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • To manage the HR Coordinator.

Role Type: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week)
