In-Hire Claims Handler - Paignton - Devon

£20-21k per year plus monthly bonus - Banking, Insurance and Finance

The position involves monitoring the client’s claim whilst the Client is incurring credit hire charges to ensure that the claim is not being delayed. The role involves regular telephone contact with clients, insurance companies, garages, engineers and solicitors.

Whilst full training is provided you will need to demonstrate:

  • Computer literate – ability to use case management software and spreadsheets

Principle job responsibilities:

  • To speak to a variety of individuals where the customer’s vehicle is repairable – insurance companies, claims management companies, solicitors, garages, engineers and clients.
  • To authorise repairs and book vehicle into a garage and ensure vehicle is successfully delivered back to or collected by the customer.
  • Accurately record the position of the repairs, inform the insurance company of the position if they are not dealing with the repairs and react if the claim is not proceeding in accordance with guidelines.
  • Speak to a variety of individuals where the customer’s vehicle is not repairable. Where the client’s own insurance company or solicitor is dealing with the claim, the In-hire handler will be monitoring the claim and liaising with the interested parties to ensure that the claim is proceeding as swiftly as possible to conclusion.  There will be cases where CVR are representing the client in order to redeem the valuation of the vehicle – this will involve obtaining the vehicle valuation, discussing this with the client to obtain agreement, confirming the valuation in writing and assessing whether any objection that the client has to the valuation is reasonable in the circumstances.
  • When working on files to carry out the necessary claims monitoring, it is also necessary to request outstanding information from a number of parties, such as documentation from clients, witness statements and comments on liability from insurance companies.
  • Prepare the file to be passed to the accounts department at the end of the hire period. This involves ensuring that the rates of hire to be charged are correct within the guidelines and accurately recording the hire rate and hire dates.

Salary £20,000 to £21,000 per year plus Company bonus scheme (est. £150 per month). 40 hours per week working 0900-1730 Monday to Friday.
