Our client is an award-winning firm of Solicitors providing a wide range of legal services to both individuals and businesses. 

They have an excellent opportunity for a Legal Secretary to support their Private Client and Residential Property Teams.

This position would suit an individual who has experience of supporting a busy Private Client/Residential Property Team providing secretarial and administrative support to the fee earning members of the Teams. You will be competent and proficient with case management systems, a competent IT user and be able to work on your own initiative.

What you’ll be doing

  • Opening files and inputting/maintaining client details
  • Anti-Money Laundering verification of new and existing clients
  • Receiving and making telephone calls to both clients and contacts which will involve keeping them up to date with matter progress
  • Digital transcription of documents as and when directed by the members of the fee earning staff
  • Ordering searches and other disbursements in line with fee earner instructions
  • Keeping Electronic/manual client matter files up to date
  • Liaising with all members of staff in relation to client files
  • Preparing files for storage and retrieving documents via requests to the appropriate member of staff
  • Scheduling of appointments for fee earners
  • Meeting clients and undertaking reception duties as required

For this role we are looking for candidates who have have had experience of working within a law firm, and who can liaise confidently with clients via phone and email, communicate effectively and possesses a high level of attention to detail. Additionally you will be:

  • Proficient in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfortable handling confidential information
  • Good at multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
