The Job To work as part of a team and individually to provide support to the Niche Department clients (Sport division) to ensure conversion of new business, service of existing clients and retention of renewals. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Respond to enquiries from clients, brokers and underwriters received by phone, letter or e-mail; Complete the key task of “fact finding” to identify clients’ requirements; Obtain and communicate quotations; Discuss any “additional” covers to ensure that all insurance requirements are satisfied; Maintain the system for raising renewals. Manage the departmental diary system and produce renewal documentation; Issue policy documents and update client records; Ensure that the system records are created for new business, mid-term adjustments, enquiries and renewals and updated following all client contacts; Chase and receive payments by cheque, credit card and direct debit for new business, renewals and policy amendments. Issue receipt documents and send renewal documents; Achieve company income targets in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. The Person Whilst the position does require sales aptitude, a genuine interest in working with and helping customers is more important as we focus on providing a consultative approach to our clients. Insurance experience is not essential but you will need to demonstrate the following requirements: Experience of working in an office environment, handling enquiries by phone and email; A background in sales and/or customer service (Insurance experience is not essential); Great communication skills and the ability to deal with various customer types; Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, Internet and email; The ability to handle complaints and difficult situations in a patient, calm and effective way. Additional Information Starting salary up to £18,548 per year plus bonus – realistic est. £300-£500 per month, uncapped (The Company will consider a guaranteed bonus for the first few months as long as KPIs around learning and performance are met) . A comprehensive training and development programme is available with opportunity to undertake formal qualifications. Permanent role, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. We are located in central Torquay close to public transport and shops.
