We are looking to recruit a talented Payroll Supervisor to join our expanding team.

Our Payroll team process a variety of payrolls on behalf of our clients - these range from large companies with over 500 employees to much smaller payrolls consisting of a couple of directors and everything in between!

As part of this role, you will be responsible for coaching and mentoring our more junior team members and ensuring that they develop into competent payroll administrators.

You will be working within a fast-paced environment where you will need to be able to perform well under pressure and be able to demonstrate excellent time management skills.

The Role

Playing a key part in the day to day running of monthly and weekly client payrolls and the overall development of our bureau, your responsibilities will include:

  • People managing our Payroll Administrators - this will include reviewing work, answering any of their queries and ensuring that an excellent level of client service is offered
  • Liaising with clients to ensure that you have all the information required to run their payrolls
  • Processing tax and allowances
  • Providing a pensions auto enrolment service
  • Dealing with payroll and bank credits
  • Supporting our team of Payroll Managers with ad-hoc project work

What we are looking for

To be considered for the role, you will need to have:

  • Previous payroll administration experience - this can be gained from within either an in-house or bureau environment
  • A track record of successfully coaching and mentoring individuals within a payroll environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills and a confident user of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of identifying and recommending process improvements
  • A working knowledge of Star Payroll would be desirable but isn’t essential
