The Job

Our client is seeking a PR & Communications Assistant to support our external communications activity.

Editing and writing materials including press releases, web news content and social media posts, you will be an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail and the ability to turn complex information into concise and engaging copy.

Key tasks:

  • Drafting and distributing communication materials (e.g. press releases, web news and social media content)
  • Responding to requests from journalists
  • Monitoring for media coverage
  • Responding to emails and inquiries, and performing other administrative tasks
  • Managing calendars and media lists
  • Proofreading and copy editing (e.g. brochures, papers and reports)
  • Assisting with the coordination of filming and photoshoot opportunities

The Person

  • Educated to degree level
  • Demonstrable experience in communications, public relations, or a similar field
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills
  • Experience with social media platforms
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills
  • Good computer skills, ideally including Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with video production and editing (desirable but not essential)
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail

Salary & Benefits

Initially a 6 month fixed term appointment with the possibility to extend the right candidate. This is a full time position, although part time working could be considered.
