Production Admin Support (Trainee considered) - Paignton - Devon

Working in a fast-paced office environment, this role supports the pre-production department.  A variety of tasks keep this role very busy, consisting mainly of general office administration duties, but also typesetting/laying out graphics on bespoke printing dies, proofing to the sales department, and generating accurate work instructions ready for manufacturing. 

Based in Paignton, Devon for 30 years and our client manufactures a wide range of products for different industrial applications all over the world.   You will be supporting the production of a variety of printed and die cut products, produced for sectors including Horticultural, Metallurgical, Medical and Leisure for distribution world-wide. 

The role could suit a recent graduate who wants to progress in this vibrant industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Filing all production paper work, and maintaining
  • Pre-press checks (eg. Checking printing plates, tooling, material stocks) to support Pre-production and the Production Supervisor’s job in planning and resource allocation
  • Artwork/typesetting using Adobe and/or Coral Draw to pre-designed templates.  Please note there is no design work involved, it is simply a process of personalising the product to the clients’ specification (training will be provided)
  • Make sure logos/text meet the specified criteria and quality for printing
  • Communication with sales team regarding specifications (obtaining proof approvals)
  • Maintain a good pace and meet deadlines for production
  • Working to and maintaining defined processes
  • Creation of accurate job sheets, to ensure correct communication of job requirements to production operatives
  • Retrospective updates of specific job information

Requirements:

  • Requires a good standard of Maths and English
  • A keen eye of detail, meticulous on details
  • Requires knowledge of graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
  • An aptitude for I.T, specifically design software
  • Good team working skills whilst being able to work Independently

Experience with the following relevant software is desirable but not essential:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign)
  • Coral Draw very advantageous

Additional Information:

  • Basic salary is c£16K
  • 37.5 hours working 8.30am to 17.00pm Monday to Thursday (1 hour lunch break).  4.30pm finish on Friday (30 min lunch break)
  • 25 days plus Public Bank Holidays
  • Free, on-site parking
