Technical Sales Engineer - Totnes - Devon

The Job

You will be an important part of a small high-performing team providing sales and technical support to customers in the UK, Europe and USA.

While learning in your day-to-day role, you will be given all the support and training needed to develop and grow your skills and capability.

We are looking for someone with good electronics technical ability and fault-finding and the ability to learn quickly with a keen interest in wireless systems, we’re more interested in potential than “the finished article”.

Working as a member of their friendly sales office, your responsibilities will include:

  • Telephone and email liaison with installers and on-site engineers, providing technical assistance during installation and fault-finding of in-field equipment
  • The preparation of quotations, order entry and giving technical advice to customers on the best system configuration for their given application
  • Following up Returns with the Service department and preparing fault reports for the customer where required

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Good electronics technical ability and fault-finding skills, preferably gained within a commercial environment
  • The ability, with training, to write up system configuration notes and simple diagrams to assist with quotations and customer installations
  • PC literacy with good Windows based data entry skills and a confident telephone manner
  • Calmness under pressure, coupled with good diplomatic and interpersonal skills

(Highly desirable)

  • Experience with radio based systems, especially on-site UHF data & telemetry systems
  • Experience within fire or security environment
