Trainee Technical Sales Engineer - Totnes - Devon

Our client is a leading designer & manufacturer of communicate & data systems for use in commercial & industrial environments.

THE ROLE

This role as a Trainee Technical Sales Engineer is to work within the Sales office. The position will involve telephone and email liaison with customers, inputting sales orders onto the PC based order processing system and dealing with customer enquiries. Training on production, assembly and product knowledge will be comprehensive.

Duties:

• Giving technical advice to customers on the best system solution for their given application.
• Communication via telephone and email.
• Processing sales orders.
• Following up returns with the Service department and preparing fault reports for the customer where required.
• Liaising with installers and on-site engineers, providing technical assistance during installation and fault-finding of in-field equipment (training provided).

KEY ATTRIBUTES

• Good technical ability, preferably gained within a commercial environment, especially fire or security.
• Logical fault-finding skills.
• Calmness under pressure, coupled with good diplomatic and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with radio based systems, especially on-site UHF data & telemetry systems will be very advantageous.
• The ability to learn quickly and a keen interest in Radio communications.
• IT literacy and a confident telephone manner are essential.
• Full hands-on product familiarisation and training will be provided.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• HND and/or Degree in an Electronics discipline.
• Knowledge or experience of radio communications.
